Basic Vice Grip

All-in-all a fairly straight forward build in SolidWorks. I found the vice grip drawing while scrolling through Reddit and decided it could be a fun design to put together and a good opportunity to practice some rendering tips picked up from my previous project.
Creating renders in PhotoView360 was the most challenging aspect, as selecting material textures, altering surface reflections, and adjusting lighting are all areas I’m just beginning to explore.
Overall, I’m happy with how this design came out. Although there wasn’t a ton of room for creativity, it did allow for me to learn a few new tricks on improving the final rendered image. Adding perspective, shadow, and making changes to illumination settings are all things I never considered before this project, but are now a “must have” moving forward. I was also able to brush up on some old skills such as creating ACME threads and interpreting engineering drawings.
More builds and designs to come in the future!
